“i am a fieldnote”* because i am an anthropologist.

i look, i listen, i take notes. this blog is my virtual notebook.

the “i” in these notes is afro-iranian.

my parents moved to africa in the 80s. i was born and raised in malawi, but i am often seen as a mzungu. my persian roots grow firmly in african soil.

at the moment, i’m volunteering in tamale, ghana.

* my first blog (may it rest in peace) was named after “i am a fieldnote”: fieldnotes as a symbol of professional identity by jean e. jackson.
